As with many of the Raptors contests throughout this season, the success of the team hinged on the success of senior quarterback and his talented group of wide receivers, including Tysin Weaver, Teagan Jallick, and Cooper Kathman. Advertisement The trio of receivers and their vaunted signal-caller took care of business against the Tigers, connecting for four separate touchdowns between them, including two to Weaver and two to Kathman. The passing game wasn’t the only aspect of the Raptors offense finding paydirt against the Withrow defense, however, as the rushing game, spearheaded by senior tailback Jordan Davis, found the endzone in the first quarter, while Davis also added a receiving touchdown of his own not much later in the contest. The Withrow offense found some success as well, as their junior quarterback Sa’Vion Davis ran for a 53-yard touchdown score, and threw for a 30-yard touchdown to senior wideout Charles Alexander, Jr. After the two big scores, Davis kept his Tigers in the contest, as he took off for a 74-yard touchdown run. Between the two teams, there were 42 total points scored in the first quarter alone, as Withrow had kept up with the high-flying Raptor offense. From there, the Anderson defense stiffened up, holding Davis and the Tigers offense in check, allowing Scalf and co. to pull out to a big lead, before Anderson’s star defensive back Antonie Higgins picked off Davis for a defensive touchdown, pushing their lead to 21 with just eight minutes remaining in the first half. With the Tigers players and visiting faithful stunned, the Raptors cruised to yet another postseason victory, their ninth since 2023. Next up for the Raptors will be the Troy Trojans (10-2) at home next Friday night, in the regional semifinal contest.
